The Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) is strategically located along the coastal area of Gelang Patah at the eastern mouth of Pulai River in the South-West Johor, Johor Darul Takzim. PTP was opened around October 1999. PTP continued to show spectacular growth as the second major port in Malaysia.

PTP currently offers 12 berths spanning 4.32km of linear wharf length and a 1.2 million square meters container yard which contains around 200,000 TEU in storage space, 38,000 ground slots and 4,200 reefer points. The large size of most structures at PTP port facilities requires that they are built with reinforced concrete, steel, or a combination of both.
