The objectives of the principal culvert inspection are as follow to ensure the continued safe operation of expressway:

  1. Reconnaissance survey of the culvert locations;
  2. To confirm the physical conditions of the culverts;
  3. To record the extent of deterioration and damages to the culvert structures; and
  4. To provide recommendations on maintenance work required.

Approximate 141 nos. of the culverts comprise of Reinforced Concrete Pipe Culverts (RCP), Reinforced Drainage Box Culverts (DBC), and Vehicular Box Culverts (VBC) included in the principal culvert inspection.

The Kemuning – Shah Alam Highway or Lebuhraya Kemuning – Shah Alam, LKSA (E13), connects Kemuning Interchange at the Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS) near Kota Kemuning until Federal Highway Route 2 Interchange (or also known as Bulatan Darul Ehsan Interchange) of the Federal Highway Route 2 near Shah Alam. 

This 14.7km 3-lane dual carriageway highway crosses over from KESAS in the south towards the Federal Highway Route 2 in the north consist of 6 interchanges, dedicated motorcycle lane, one (1) lay-by and two (2) toll plazas.
